The Town of Poestenkill is a quiet, safe town located in Rensselaer County, New York - far removed from the hustle and bustle of modern urban society. With a population just over 4,500, Poestenkill is known as a "gateway" to the Rensselaer Plateau. It offers residents and visitors a unique opportunity to experience a wealth of outdoor recreation activities and easy access to some of the Plateau's most celebrated state parks, forests, and natural landmarks. Poestenkill is home to a number of unique shops, dining options, and community events.

POESTENKILL BULLETIN BOARD:

Town of Poestenkill Comprehensive Plan has a survey for residents to participate in on the “ABOUT” page. Residents input is very valuable to finalizing the plan. There is a QR code or you can print the survey and return it to the Town Office no later than October 10, 2024. Copies of the survey are available at the Town Office, Post Office and the Library.
